As backyard monsters gets booted from being an official or being a flagship KIXEYE title. There had been many questions on what the future of bym holds. Bym is no longer shown in the kixeye website as an official supported game this leads us to believe that the faith will be the same as desktop defender(an older title made by casualcollective/kixeye a long time ago) .
The History Of Backyard Monsters
Backyard monsters or desktop critters was the first of its kind by kixeye and second fb game after desktop defender. The idea of backyard monsters was a work on progress. Bym was basically an experiment whether a game of its kind would work on the facebook platform. And it was a success.
Battle Pirates And War Commander
With the success of Backyard Monsters. KIXEYE co-founder Paul Preece, started developing his own game titled "Battle Pirates". The idea was to experiment more on complexity, a lot more strategy, war and destruction. Plus the introduction of real time pvp made it a success too.
The success of having more destruction and war prompted the shift of Kixeye from casual players to hardcore players and eventually to midcore players.
With the release of War Commander and the fact that David Scott is now working on it more than Bym. Backyard Monsters' future is getting dimmer and dimmer.
Is Backyard Monsters dead?
The answer is an awesome no. With the forum community getting a little bit itchy with the subject, David Scott himself made a comment on the topic and what he said goes something like this "Bym is not dead. With the recent additions to our staff. We had to reshuffle our teams. There will be an upcoming event coming to Bym soon and it will allow you to unlock all previous prizes." and in his exact words "BYM is going to get the love and attention it deserves!".
