BYM Events

Today, We will talk about BYM events through the years. You may not know some of them. The images on the left are the prizes you get for some of them.  For instance the Totem poles, You can only have them during the 2 WM invasion. The more waves you can survive, the better your totem becomes. 


Some events gives you exclusive monsters or champions like the Creature Carnage Event and the Monster Madness event. Events has become to be one of Backyard Monster's or Kixeye's give aways for active players. If you are wondering the pumpkins mean, They were the prize for the BYM Halloween event in November 2010 a long with free 100 shiny.


BYM Halloween Event (Nov 2010)
You get a Pumpkin out of nowhere.

Giant Pumpkin Beside Your Yard

Kixeye or Casual Collective back then. Also made little pumpkins pop out on your yard that gives you a free spin eveyday. It will depend whether you get a treat or a trick. If you get a trick then if I remembered correctly then your yard gets catapulted by twigs and if you get "treat" then you get resources if I remembered correctly. At Halloween you get the Dave pumpkin and mini pumpkins and a bonus 100 shiny. Did I mention, a Giant Dave will emerge from the image in the left and a Nuke sets off in your yard?

Next up is the First Wild Monster Invasion (Nov 10-20, 2011)

The First Defense Event of Backyard Monsters. Your yard will be attacked with multiple waves of wild monsters. This will test your yard's defense to fullest. It was the beginning of Kixeye's plan on making events a staple on Kixeye Games. 
Although it was a ton of fun. You only receive a Totem as a sign of your victory.

This was the pop up that players received. You will noticed that it said until nov 17 but it had a bonus wave that made the event last for another 3 days.








Now for the Wild Monster Invasion 2

Just like the first WM invasion. It was still waves of monsters against your yard. This was the debut of some inferno monsters. And was led by Moloch which at that time was still known as an unknown monster tribe. After the event it gave way for the introduction of Inferno. Same as the first one you get a totem as a symbol of your victory. The only difference was that it had not one bonus wave but 2. They also featured enraged monsters which was new.

The Monster Madness Event

First of its kind. "Moloch's favorite Inferno pet, Korath, abandoned him. It seems Korath has developed a taste for Putty, and he's been running around the Outpost in the World Map on a gluttonous binge.If you upgrade your Map Room, you can capture him. The search begins March 22nd."


The challenge was to capture outposts as fast as possible. You have a progress bar in your yard that increases everytime you capture an outpost. The better the quality of the outpost. The bigger percentage will added in the progress bar. If you finish the event then you get to have Korath. This event was only for the players with a level 2 maproom.

Latest is the Hunt For Krallen

You need to finish your quota every week to get Krallen. And you need to finish it in 5 consecutive times to have him permanently. Although it's advertise as an event. It's more like of a feature than a event. The Hunt For Krallen doesn't end. Which can be a good thing. That way everyone has a chance to unlock him and not just those high level players.

Rapping Up
There are plenty more events on BYM. But those were only for low level players. Like the Creature Carnage event. Events is now an integral part of the game. You should expect for events soon. The question is whether we should expect for feature like events like the Hunt For Krallen or more exclusive events like the Monster Madness events. In the end, Events are very enjoyable and it adds a better experience for players who play actively. And last, they always tend to surprise us players.
