Okay, I think it's about time we talk about KoK rings in Backyard monsters. And that is by capturing all his/her outposts around him/her.
History
The name was coined by Jennifer of the MSA alliance. The picture at the top is the original KoK ring and you can tell why it was coined the "KoK Ring".
Significance
So why talk about this now? Well, it may be not that significant in MR2 but in the new world map. It is almost essential to KoK ring your opponents. In MR3, you should capture all the outpost defenders of your enemy before you attack his/her yard. If you don't KoK ring him/her, their main yard will have a great defense bonus so that's why KoK ringing is important.

Conclusion
