Shiny Spending Guide

We have an interesting topic for today. And guess what, It's about the single most awesome thing on Backyard Monsters. It's Shiny! We will talk about what should you purchase and what not to never purchase in the game. Since because Shiny, is hard to earn. Watching ads and picking mushrooms can only give you so little for the amount of time collecting it. And not to mention that it is simply expensive for others. And maybe if you buy a ton of shiny every month but you don't know how to spend your shiny correctly. No fear this post is all for you. We will go to every single thing you should and shouldn't spend shiny on.

So now I'll be opening BYM from another tab while typing this in. That way I won't forget anything.

Okay lets get started.
What to buy with shiny (priority).
First, you should have 3 workers. That's your top priority so you won't get too behind on updates and you can still go full speed ahead. Second, Buy all yardage. You should buy it, even if your not that designer type of person. Third, I suggest buying packing skills. It's not that cheap but so worth it. It gives you 10% times more resource storage capacity so if you buy all 10 packing skills then you basically double your storage capacity than a normal player with no packing skills unlocked. Fourth priority is to buy a 4th and 5th worker. Although this is only optional but if your still have low level buildings (levels 6-7 RGs) then I strongly suggest to buy extra workers. But if you already have max towers and max RGs, don't bother. Lastly, It's a damn good idea to evolve your champion via shiny. More on this below.

Note: If you didn't buy those mentioned above then don't even start to consider using your shiny on the things below.

Now for the temporary things which should be the least of your concerns.
Sharper Tools - Makes all upgrades and construction, 20% faster for 7 days and workers gets hats. It costs 225 shiny. My suggestion is to ignore this. And just save up for workers and not something which is only temporary. If your planning on doing this I suggest you make sure you logistically upgrade things that way you don't waste a lot of time. Example, Pick something to upgrade that you are sure when the upgrade finishes you will be online by then and therefore you don't waste time and can then start another upgrade the minute it finishes.

Monster Dust - gives your monsters 25% damage boost for a whole day. It costs a whopping 500 shiny. Don't bother, You should probably just use that shiny to basically speed-up upgrades on your monsters or something. It boost your monsters for only 24 hours and it's not like you'll be playing for a whole day straight but if you'll planning on doing that then feel free to buy it. But if your only playing for 1-4 hours then don't bother. It's a waste of shiny.

Beast Mode - gives your monster 30% armor boost, It's like temporary fortification for monsters for 24 hours. And it also costs a whopping 500 shiny. Just like my earlier argument with Monster Dust. If you ain't playing this game for 24 hours straight then it's not worth it. The shiny you save can be spent on other stuff than this.

Hyper Speed - doubles your monster's speed by 50% for 24 hours. And it costs 500 shiny. As I said about Monster Dust and Beast mode, there are plenty of things you should bother spending on than this. You don't need steroids for your monsters.

Compound Expansion - gives you 25% percent more housing storage for 24 hours. It costs 375 shiny. Logically it gives you an extra Monster Housing without the extra space but do note it's only for 24 hours. It's not worth. If your in the world map then it makes much more sense not to buy it since you can just get/capture and outpost and use that extra housing space for.

Tower Overdrive - gives 25% attack damage boost to towers for a whole day. For a whopping 600 shiny price tag. I don't know if Kixeye is just plain retarded or something. I strongly suggest not buy this because if you only want protection then go buy 1 day damage protection for only 32 shiny. And to give you more of an insight, if the attacker is really skilled even if you buy this stuff this won't save you from your yard being destroyed.

Production Overdrive - doubles the production rate of your harvesters for 12 hours. It costs 200 shiny. Don't even think about buying this. It's not near worth it. I suggest you capture outposts instead or farm Kozus for loot than purchasing this which is a total waste of shiny.

Buying Monsters From the Store - Don't buy monsters from the store via the monster bunker. They're a total waste. If you want quick production of monsters then go to your hatchery's whip up a batch of monsters and use hatchery overdrive instead of just using shiny directly from the store.

Finish Now option on Hatcheries - Don't buy them, It's a total waste of shiny and don't even begin to consider it. Use Hatchery overdrive instead if you want your monster hatching fast.

Upgrade Instantly and Keep your resources Button - Whatever you do. Don't ever fall for this button when you upgrade your stuff. You save a ton of shiny if you use your resources and then speed up the upgrade instead of using it directly since your gonna pay for the resources used to! This also applies to Monster Upgrades and etc.

Decorations - Yeah go buy 1 flag of your country but other than that. Don't waste your shiny.

Buying Damage Protection - It's relatively cheap and affordable. But I only agree if your going to be busy and won't be able to play BYM for a long time and especially if your base is getting pwned everyday and you don't have the time to retaliate. Although I strongly suggest to never use DP for an outpost. That's when DP becomes useless and it's not worth it.

Things that still in the least of your priority but you can consider purchasing.
Hatchery Overdrive - Speeds up monster production either four times faster, six times faster or ten times faster for an hour. Stage one costs only 30 shiny, Stage 2 costs 50 shiny and Stage 3 costs 100 shiny. The only reason you should consider buying this is because it makes a attacking and following up on your attack waves much faster. But I do not recommend this if your just using this pokeys, octo-oozes and bolts. I do recommend this if your planning on hatching Daves and Zafs in less than an hour.

Buying Resources for Shiny - To buy? or not to buy? that is the question. Here's some things you should remember. If your really desperate then I suggest only buying to fill your capacity to the brim (100%) don't buy if you only need a small amount. And I only suggest buying this for Goo and not any other resources for it. Again, It is only reasonable if you buy goo and if you buy the 100% option.

Speed-Ups - Something you may consider using shiny on but only on the stuff you really need badly. And I'm not referring to the upgrade instantly and keep your resources button. As much as possible you should use resources to start the upgrades before you speed it up since it can save you a ton of shiny.

Evolving your Champion with Shiny - Okay, this is totally worth it but I strongly suggest to feed the first few levels manually and start using evolve with shiny at level 4 that way you still saved some shiny. It is mainly good to evolve your champion with shiny because am I the only one who can't wait for my champion to evolve?

Conclusion
Long read huh? That's was basically the must know stuff to wisely spend your shiny that I ever thought about. I hope you read the entire post and actually learned something. Post on the comments on what you think about this and if you want more of this stuff.
